Who is Birch & Bambi?
Hi! My name is Amber, I'm a Connecticut based hiker & traveler. Most of my hikes and adventures are located in the New England and New York. When time and money allow, I love to adventure further from home.
Throughout my life I received many nicknames, but one remained constant - Bambi. Beside it coming from my name, the fact I can't walk without falling or tripping makes it pretty fitting.
Birch has always been one of my favorite trees, I remember visiting my godmother's house as a child and searching through the woods for birch trees so I could smell the bark. That's not weird, right?
I created this blog with the hope of inspiring others to explore the world around them, by sharing my personal experiences in and knowledge of hiking and traveling.

HIKING
Hiking is my absolute favorite thing to do. I love to visit new places and heights. Something about being in nature makes me feel the happiest.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Since I was little, I loved to take photos and edit them. In the past, I mostly used my Samsung Galaxy Note 22 Ultra, but I recently got my hands on a Sony A7ii and look forward to creating!
DAY & WEEKEND TRIPS
Getting away for the day or over a long weekend is the perfect refresher. I try to squeeze a short trip in every chance I get!
VACATIONS
I know I'm not alone when I say, I love going on vacation. Disconnecting and relaxing in a totally new state or country excites me, I love to explore new places.

Favorite Places I've Hiked Or Traveled To
My all time favorite hike was Sugar Loaf Mountain in New Hampshire. Both Middle and North offered amazing views and there were so many places to sit and look out. My favorite travel location is the Bahamas. I've visited Atlantis on Paradise Island two times and look forward to another trip some day!
Places I Have Lined Up To Hike Or Travel To
I have some many great places lined up in the next year or so. My top two most exciting travels will be to Iceland and Costa Rica. More locally, I can't wait to hike some more trails in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
Bucket List Hikes And Travel Locations
This list could go on and on, basically everywhere and anywhere is on my bucket list. If I had to narrow it down, my top spots to travel to would be the Almafi Coast in Italy and
Moraine Lake in Alberta, Canada. My top hikes would be the Franconia Ridge in New Hampshire, which is a little over eight miles and Indian Head in New York which is around eleven miles.
